Alfalfa

ImageAlfalfa literally means "the best food."  It is very rich in protein.  It is not a medicine, nor are there any medical claims made for it.  It is a well balanced FOOD and quite complete.  Alfalfa contains the eight essential enzymes the body needs to help break up food elements to make them useable in the body.  It helps the amino acids regulate body tissue.  The fiber of alfalfa seems to bind up the cholesterol in such a way that it clears it out of the body quickly.  It helps to alleviate constipation.  High or low blood pressure will sometimes level out within weeks.  Alfalfa is also beneficial in aiding those with kidney or bladder trouble because it makes excretion of the kidney less acidic.  Less acid results in less irritation of the urinary tract.  You wouldn?t believe the rich nutrition in Alfalfa.

More Than A Funny Name

Alfalfa is more than just a funny name. It is one of the richest sources for nutrition known to man.  Alfalfa means "father of all foods."  It is one of nature?s oldest legumes, having been cultivated as long as 2,000 years ago.  Many food elements are found in this one food.

The vitamins found in Alfalfa

  1. Vitamin A - aides against night blindness, promotes tissue formation, builds resistance to infections- especially in the respiratory tract, promotes growth and vitality, promotes healthy skin, is essential in pregnancy, promotes digestion and assimilation of food
  2. Vitamin E - prevents sterility, valuable in treatment of muscular dystrophy, prevents calcium deposits in the blood vessels, used in treatment of heart conditions, promises muscle tone to the body, aids vitamins A & C by preventing their oxidation in the blood
  3. Vitamin U - used in treatment of peptic ulcers
  4. Vitamin B-6 (Pyridoxine) - aids in food assimilation and protein and fat metabolism, prevents various nervous and skin disorders, prevents nausea, is needed for relief of sore muscles and chronic tiredness
  5. Vitamin K - essential for blood clotting, important to liver function
  6. Vitamin D - regulates the use of calcium and phosphorus in the body, which is therefore necessary for proper formation of teeth and bones

Minerals found in Alfalfa

  1. Calcium - builds and maintains bones and teeth, helps blood to clot, aids vitality and endurance, regulates heart rhythm, soothes nerves
  2. Iron - required in manufacture of hemoglobin, helps carry oxygen to the blood, carries oxygen to the brain so it can work properly (Iron-weak persons have a poor memory and are unable to think clearly because the brain is starved for valuable oxygen.)
  3. Potassium - necessary for normal muscle tone and nerves and heart action and enzyme reactions, digests fats, stimulates the kidney to dispose of body wastes (A potassium deficiency may cause constipation, nervousness, insomnia, slows irregular heartbeat and muscle damage.)
  4. Phosphorus - needed for normal bone and tooth structure, interrelated with action of calcium and Vitamin D to improve nutrition of nerve tissue, sparks internal energy, works to neutralize excess blood acidity, helps create lecithin and cerebrin ? ingredients needed for mental power, metabolizes fats and starches
  5. Chlorine - cleans out toxic waste products and purifies the system, stimulates your liver to act as a filter for waste substances, stimulates production of hydrochloric acid - the digestive juice needed for tough and fibrous food, helps to keep a youthful joint and tendon condition, helps to distribute hormones issued by the endocrine glands, lowers fat sugar and starch metabolism  (A chlorine deficiency may cause hair loss, tooth loss, poor muscular contractibility, and improper digestive power.)
  6. Sodium - joins with chlorine to improve blood and lymph health, mainly renders other blood minerals more soluble and prevents them from becoming clogged or deposited in the blood distribution system, regulates heat in the body fluids, neutralizes acid, prevents clotting of the blood, stimulates the spleen, excites bowels and stomach to greater action
  7. Silicon Magnesium - aids elimination, steadies the nerves, protects skin and body, stimulates the brain (A silicon magnesium deficiency may be traced to skin flabbiness, feeling of chronic fatigue, and eyes that are dull and glazed.)
  8. Trace Minerals - has more total food nutrients - including minerals - than ANY other land grown plant, richest land grown-source of sub-nutritional trace minerals which feed the glandular system - which affects one's very personality to the better

Alfalfa contains all 8 essential enzymes, which cause amino acids to regenerate body tissues.  Those Enzymes are as follows:

  1. Lipase - fat splitting
  2. Amylase - acts on starches
  3. Coagulase - coagulates or clots blood
  4. Emulsin - acts upon sugars
  5. Invertase - converts cane sugar to dextrose
  6. Peroxidase - oxidizing effect of the blood
  7. Pectinaxe - forms vegetable jelly
  8. Protase - digests proteins

Other properties of Alfalfa:

  1. Chlorophyll -  develops an effective barrier against bacterial invasion by its stimulation effect on the growth of connective and granulation tissue
  2. Protein - without which we would not grow or have energy, makes blood pressure normal, aids in digestion, waste disposal, appetite, tissue repair, blood clotting, proper production of enzymes and  hormones and antibodies, helps knit bones, fights against dental cavities, combats personality changes and mental deterioration
  3. Digestion Aid
  4. Great Diuretic and Bowel Regulator
  5. High Content of Histadine -  aids in elimination of pain in Rheumatoid Arthritis
  6. Cholesterol Levels Drop
  7. Many Stomach Miseries Disappear
  8. Helps Remedy Low Blood Pressure
  9. Helps Against Kidney or Bladder Trouble

Many doctors agree that there is no other single plan in the vast vegetable kingdom containing so many health-giving properties as are contained in the Alfalfa herb.
